The ‘Van Kolplein ‘ in the Dutch town of Velp is a characteristic garden-city neighborhood with historical value. 86 poorly maintained dwellings were replaced by 80 new ones in a contemporary interpretation of the architecture that is typical for the area. This helped to maintain the quality and atmosphere of the urban plan. Because inhabitants were involved in the process, most of them returned to a new home in the area after construction.
